By July 16, 2018

We are pleased to announce that we have added several new authors to our ranks! Please join us in welcoming them as perma-bloggers and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates!

CH Terry is a PhD student at UC Davis studying U.S. History. Before starting her PhD, she was a research assistant for the women’s history team at the LDS Church History Library, where she worked on At the Pulpit: 185 Years of Discourses by Latter-day Saint Women, and worked on the history of the Young Women organization. She was also a research assistant for the Joseph Smith Papers. She completed her MA in U.S. History at the University of Utah in 2015, where she focused on women’s history and religious history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Charlotte’s research has focused on gender, race, and religion in the American West and Pacific.

Jeffrey M is a historian with the Joseph Smith papers. After receiving his BA in history from BYU he worked for two years in BYU’s Special Collections before joining the Smith papers in 2013 as a research assistant. He received his MA in history from the University of Utah in 2017 and is currently pursuing a PhD at the same institution.

JM Nelson claims the both the Pacific Northwest and the Mountain West as home. She majored in American Studies at BYU and completed a master’s degree in history at Utah State in 2017 where she was also USU’s last Western Historical Quarterly editorial fellow. Her thesis entitled “‘The Mississippi of the West’: Religion, Conservatism, and Racial Politics in Utah, 1960–1978” was awarded the Lester E. Bush Best Thesis Award by the Mormon History Association in 2018. She enjoys reading and writing about Mormon history and wishes she spent more time riding her bike.
