  3. I’m thinking about submitting a proposal on the British influence in Mormon liturgy, especially as it relates to what some call “magic.”

Anyone interested in putting a panel together?

    Comment by J. Stapley — August 12, 2011 @ 12:29 pm

  4. Sounds interesting, J. My problem is that I usually don’t decide on the topic until the day the proposals are due (which is usually during fall priesthood session).

  5. Possibly interested, JS.

  6. Planning on going, though we’ll have to look at the budget. I’m ready to talk about African things, I think. Hoping to debut a trailer of a film. We’ll see. But yes, it’s in the plans.

  7. I hope to go (if work cooperates). Never been to Canada before.

  8. We are taking whole family. Haven’t thought through topics but glad to ponder some magic for the translation project.

  9. Dr. Richard Bennett is the real deal and THE scholar on Canada and all things Mormon and he isn’t from Alberta!

  10. Anticipating going, and have a couple of ideas for a paper. However, not sure that they will be cooked enough by the deadline for submissions.

    Comment by Kent (MC) — August 22, 2011 @ 5:14 pm

  12. Kent, when I put this up I couldn’t find it anywhere online, but now the newsletter is posted (that I scanned this from) and you might be able to grab the text off there:
